Many Faces of Markham

Description: The City of Markham and the Markham Race Relations Committee presented Many Faces of Markham at Bur Oak Secondary School. This annual event promotes the elimination of racial discrimination and celebrates the community’s ethno-cultural inclusiveness. This year’s theme was “Everyone Welcome” empowering Markham Students as Emerging Champions in Equity. Many Faces of Markham is also an art, writing and video competition open to Markham elementary and secondary school students. Winners in each category were recognized during the Many Faces of Markham celebration. The event also featured live cultural performances. While snapd Markham was there, Nicholas Manlapaz sang Go the Distance from the Disney movie Hercules and Bianca Manlapaz sang Castle on a Cloud from Les Miserables.
